About 60 participants from 10 European countries have taken part in this year’s annual meeting. Among them there were fortunately sometimes more, sometimes fewer mostly young Slovenian colleagues who wanted to listen to the interesting lectures on single days. Following the overall topic “Art, Spirituality, Education” we wanted to reflect together how the arts subjects can contribute to promoting education and to opening up for spirituality.

At a time when the future is so uncertain, when beauty is no longer beautiful and we talk about the aesthetics of ugliness, when we proclaim self-realization as the heyday of life, at a time when the numbers of lessons of art and music are reduced, many educators are increasingly aware of the responsibility for an educational approach developing a whole person in its entirety.
The topic “Chances, challenges and risks of preschool support for the development of 3 to 6 year-old children” is no central concern of the tasks of secondary teachers, yet it drew about 60 participants from 13 European countries to the Bildungshaus St. Hippolyt in St. Pölten.
for the development of 3 to 6 year-old children
In a just educational system it is important to offer most possible equal chances for children and their development. Scientific research (e.g. of neurolinguistics) confirm that for some aspects of the development of human beings the age from 3 to 6 is the most opportune time span. In the countries of Europe that task, which is essential for the children and society, is noticed and realized by the parents and the institutions of formation in very different ways. In that context especially children from families at a distance to formation and also families of migrants must be taken into consideration. Listening to and spreading proved and also unusual ideas in this field is a concern of teachers of all age groups, but also parents and grandparents and, generally speaking, responsible-minded citizens.
